AWS announced a guided wizard for RCS agent registration videos on October 16, 2026. According to AWS’s release notice, the AWS End User Messaging feature sends the required messages to a test device in the right sequence while the user records the demonstration.
What changes in the recording workflow
AWS says RCS registrations in multiple countries, including the United States, require a screen recording demonstrating the messaging experience. Previously, users had to script the message sequence themselves. The company describes that manual preparation as error-prone, potentially leaving a recording incomplete or mismatched to registration requirements. The wizard now drives the sequence, according to the announcement.
For engineers who previously wrote a script solely to stage that demonstration, the practical benefit is less custom setup. The useful distinction is between preparing the recording and obtaining registration approval: automating the message sequence addresses the former, but does not establish how long the latter will take.
Availability and approval expectations
AWS says the wizard is available on all RCS registration forms that require a video submission. That is the availability scope given in its release notice.
AWS also presents first-time video compliance and faster agent approval as benefits, but the announcement provides no approval-time measurements. Teams should treat faster approval as a vendor expectation rather than a measured result, and retain time for registration review in their launch schedules.
