AWS announced a unified AWS Marketplace and Amazon Business storefront on October 28, 2026. Built on AWS Marketplace Storefront, it combines software, data and AI tools from AWS Marketplace with physical goods and supplies from Amazon Business in one curated catalog, according to the AWS announcement.
Shared catalog, distinct purchasing paths
Administrators can connect their organization’s Amazon Business account and import products into a branded storefront. AWS says administrators set governance rules once for both catalogs. Each storefront connects only to the accounts its administrator configures.
The purchasing paths remain distinct. AWS Marketplace purchases complete inside the storefront and appear on the customer’s AWS invoice. Selecting an Amazon Business product instead uses single sign-on to take the buyer to an authenticated Amazon Business cart, without a second login. As described in the release notice, shared browsing does not mean every purchase completes in the same interface.
Availability depends on API access
AWS says the Amazon Business connector is available in all AWS Regions where AWS Marketplace operates. That regional footprint is not the only eligibility condition: customers must use AWS Marketplace Storefront and have access to both the AWS Marketplace and Amazon Business APIs, according to AWS’s availability statement.
What procurement engineers should check
For teams evaluating the connector, the key distinction is between a common catalog and a single end-to-end purchasing workflow. Verify the connected accounts, access to both APIs and the single sign-on handoff to Amazon Business before designing integrations around that workflow.
Downstream reconciliation deserves a separate check. The announcement specifies AWS invoicing for Marketplace purchases but does not describe consolidated billing or unified reporting across both services. Teams should confirm how Amazon Business orders will fit their invoicing and reporting requirements rather than treating catalog consolidation as proof of financial-system integration.
