Cloudflare says its Impact programs will reach $100 million in donated services during the week of its milestone announcement. The company describes support for organizations including newsrooms, civil society groups, election authorities and public schools. The announced total concerns services, not cash donations. ## Existing protection and crawler controls

Cloudflare says Project Galileo, launched in 2014, covers more than 3,500 domains in over 120 countries. Summarizing its 2026 civil-society threat report, the company says Galileo participants faced website-vulnerability exploitation attempts at more than seven times the rate of an average Cloudflare user. The post also says Cloudflare previously provided Galileo participants with free access to Bot Management and AI Crawl Control. Cloudflare describes these tools as helping organizations understand and control how AI crawlers access their content. This is access described for program participants, not an announcement of a universal free tier. [Crawler-control access](https://blog.cloudflare.com/100-million-donations/)

## Nonprofit credits and forthcoming project announcements

Cloudflare says it previously opened its startup program to nonprofit organizations. The post describes the program as providing more than $250,000 in Cloudflare credits, without specifying individual awards or credit terms. In the milestone post, Cloudflare says it plans to announce the first 30 nonprofit organizations accepted into that program during the same week. It also plans to announce three projects its engineers have built for human-rights organizations, covering transnational repression, digital-rights legislation and policy, and corporate human-rights due diligence. The post does not specify general availability or access terms for those projects. [Planned announcements](https://blog.cloudflare.com/100-million-donations/)

## What engineering teams should evaluate

The practical distinction is between services already provided, credit-program participation and projects described ahead of their announcement. Teams should evaluate each separately.

For crawler controls, decide which automated clients to permit and check for unintended blocking. Before relying on credits, confirm the award size, eligible services, expiration and costs after the credits run out. For the human-rights projects, look for access, licensing, deployment and maintenance information before assuming they can be reused.

The donation milestone is a measure of support Cloudflare says it has provided; it does not by itself answer those implementation and operating-budget questions.
